Here's the bunch on little critters that fill up my snake room. I'll update this periodically with news of how the current breading season goes, plans for future breeding seasons, and any other gossip:
Monty
Royal Python (Normal)
CB2010
Female
Bio: Monty was my first snake, bought in January 2012 from a local petshop. She was naively purchased with very little information available - we initially assumed she was a male (hence the name), until we later had her probed at another petshop, confirming her to be a female. She's currently (as I type this) locked with Ifrit, and will hopefully produce her first clutch of eggs later this year!
Ifrit
Royal Python (Fire)
CB2009
Male
Bio: Ifrit joined us in March 2012 from a very nice chap in Leicester. He was bred by Bob Clark, and purchased from the Hamm Reptile Show in 2010. My immediate plans for him are underway as he's currently paired with Monty, and will hopefully father some little Fires of his own. Eventually he'll be paired with Scully too, and fingers crossed we'll get a Super Fire. He's going to be a busy lad!
Rowntree
Royal Python (Pastel)
CB2011
Female
Bio: Rowntree is another one of Bob Clarks hatchlings, and came to me in August 2012. Unfortunately she was proving to be a picky feeder for the previous owner, only eating live. After a 5 week stand off, I'm pleased to say that she's now a thriving defrost feeder, is catching up in size nicely, and will hopefully be ready to breed next season (2013/2014)
Scully
Royal Python (Fire)
CB2012
Female
Bio: Scully (named due to a section of pattern that looks like a typewriter "X") is my youngest and cheekiest Royal, only hatching in August 2012 and coming to me from the breeder 5 weeks later. She's a lovely little monkey, and touch wood, will be ready for the 2014/2015 season, with hopes of producing a Super Fire from Ifrit.
Rory
Corn Snake (Amel)
CB2008
Female
Bio: Rory (another identity crisis!) has been bred previously with the last owner, producing a double clutch of eggs. She's currently in brumation at the moment, along with the other Corns, but should be ready to breed with Cornelius in March once shes awake and warmed up.
Cornelia
Corn Snake (Anery)
CB2009
Female
Bio: Cornelia is Rory's old house mate from the previous seller - it seemed mean to leave her behind so I brought her with me too. I don't believe she's been bred before, so this year will be her first season, where she'll also be paired with Cornelius.
Cornelius
Corn Snake (Charcoal)
CB2010
Male
Bio: This handsome chappy is Cornelius. Breeding season this year should be interesting, as it could prove us wrong on he Morph ID - if Cornelia produces all Normals, then he's a Charcoal (all babies will be 100%het Anery + Charcoal), however if any of them hatch as Anery's, then he was misidentified, and is actually an Anery himself. Place your bets now!
Hank
Western Hognose
CB2012
Male
Bio: If you don't yet have a Hognose in your life, you need one. Right now. This cheeky chap simply oozes character - he might only be the size of a Biro, but he's scared of no one with his King Cobra impression. Hank is my newest snake, born in April 2012, and currently weighs a whole 10grams! I have no immediate plans to breed Hank, but maybe one day in the future I'll consider getting him a girlfriend :)
